HCMC – Profit taking pressure kept rising on the local stock market today, August 16, but bank stocks were strong enough to send the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange back into positive territory.

HCMC – Noi Bai Cargo Terminal Service Company (NCT) will pay an interim dividend of VND4,000 for the first tranche of 2018 on the record date of August 31. The firm currently has 26.17 million outstanding shares. It will make the payment on September 28. NCT expects a net profit of VND221.7 billion on revenue of VND718 billion in 2018, down 19.7% and 3.3% against the previous year, respectively. It also aims for a dividend payout ratio of 90% for this year.

HCMC – Having traded sideways early on, the local stock market tumbled given huge selling pressure in the afternoon phase today, August 15, pushing the VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange down a hefty 16.9 points, or 1.73%, at 961.37.

HCMC – Dong Phu Rubber Company (DPR) made a gross profit of VND205.6 billion in the January-July period of this year, up 22% year-on-year and beating the full-year target by 8%. The firm’s revenue grew 10% to VND441.2 billion between January and July, meeting 60% of its entire year’s plan. Of the amount, the firm’s income from the latex sector fell around 19.4% to nearly VND222 billion due to the drop in rubber selling prices. On August 30, the firm will pay a dividend of VND2,000 per share for 2017 on the record date of August 8. It currently has 40.12 million outstanding shares.

HCMC – Vietnam National Petroleum Group (PLX) has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to approve the lifting of its foreign ownership limit from the current 20% to 49% in preparation of the Government’s reducing its stake from 76% to 51%. In addition, PLX also proposed deferring the time of the divestment to 2019-2020, rather than 2018 as previously planned.

HCMC – The board of directors of VPBank (VPB) has passed a plan to issue over 33.6 million shares under an employee stock ownership plan. The selling price is set at VND10,000 per share and the shares will be banned from trading within three years from the issuance date. It will conduct the issuance plan this year. Currently, VPB has over 2.42 billion shares in circulation and 73.2 million treasury shares.

HCMC – Airport Services Corporation (ASG Corp) has registered to list 34.5 million shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange. ASG Corp earned net revenue of VND255.2 billion in the first half of this year, up 4% from a year earlier. Besides, its after-tax profit rose by 8% year-on-year to VND85 billion, thereby taking its total undistributed after-tax profit as of late quarter two to VND256 billion. Meanwhile, the company’s total assets reached VND1.2 trillion as of late June, up VND326 billion from earlier this year. Its payables were VND447 billion, including VND50 billion worth of short-term debts and VND143 billion worth of long-term ones.

HCMC – PetroVietnam Ca Mau Fertilizer JSC (DCM) has set the record date of August 23 to pay a dividend of VND900 per share for 2017. The firm, which currently has 529.4 million outstanding shares, will make the payment on September 12. DCM made a consolidated net profit of VND413 billion on net revenue of VND3.24 trillion in the first half of this year, down 26.9% and up 6.8% year on-year, meeting 64% and 59% of its full-year targets, respectively.

HCMC – Van Phat Hung Corporation (VPH), 10.97% owned by PYN Elite Fund and 5.71% held by Construction Bank, said its consolidated net profit rocketed 48.78-fold year-on-year to VND19.32 billion in the second quarter of this year. Its consolidated net revenue fell 64.97% year-on-year to VND191.49 billion in the period. Its sales costs plunged 78.42% year-on-year to VND114.51 billion in quarter two. VPH made a consolidated net profit of VND42.92 billion from its net revenue of VND311.21 billion in the first half of this year, up 6.14-fold and down 45.16% year-on-year, respectively. Its debt ratio stood at 52.97% as of end-June, up from 50.36% late last year.
