HCMC – Vietnamese national Doan Thi Huong and another Indonesian woman, who stand accused of assassinating Kim Jong-nam, who is said to be the estranged half-brother of the current North Korean leader, have been asked to submit their defense to a court in Malaysia after the judge ruled there was sufficient evidence against them for the trial to proceed, the local and international media reported.

The Ministry of Transport has written to the Government, proposing dissolving the Council for the Road Maintenance Fund after five years of operation, as its functions are redundant now. The council, established in December 2012, has been tasked with managing the Road Maintenance Fund, but since 2017, all revenues for the fund have been channeled directly to the State Budget, and all costs for road maintenance and repair now are also covered by the State Budget. Therefore, the council’s management role is no longer needed, according to the ministry.
