Short film-making contest takes place

Young filmmaker Jenni Trang Le speaks at the opening ceremony of the 48 Hour Film Project at BHD STAR Cineplex Thao Dien last Friday in this photo. The ceremony was attended by the judging panel including Jordan Vogt-Roberts, director of the blockbuster “Kong: Skull Island”, Phan Gia Nhat Linh, director of the movie “Em la ba noi cua anh” (Sweet 20), film producer/ cinematographer Bao Nguyen, filmmaker Jenni Trang Le, and representatives from 120 film making teams. The competition which took place from June 9 to 11 was open to young filmmakers and those having passion for film and the arts. Winning films will have the opportunity to be screened in 140 cities across the world.  In addition,  all participating films will be screened at theaters of BHD STAR Cineplex in Hanoi and HCMC in late July before the award ceremony of the contest in early August. In addition, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, the tourism ambassador of Vietnam, was picked to serve as a head judge of the competition for the first time. - PHOTO: COURTESY of the organizer
