Amway, a global leader in health and beauty care products, has signed an agreement with SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam to provide VND350 million for 17 SOS Children’s Villages in the country.

This is the first year Amway Vietnam has joined hands with SOS Children’s Villages, an independent and non-governmental child welfare organization.

Speaking at the signing ceremony early this week, Leo Boon Wang, general director of Amway Vietnam, said the company has actively cooperated with prestigious organizations such as UNICEF and Operation Smile over the years, so working with SOS Children’s Villages is an honor of the company.

Over the past ten years, he said, the company, as a social responsibility, has carried out numerous community programs in Vietnam, including Amway One by One and Nutrilite Power of 5, to provide much-needed support for disadvantaged children.

These community programs are as important as the firm’s business plans, he noted, adding supporting children is Amway’s persistent global goal in more than 100 markets where the company is present.

As part of its cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam, Amway Vietnam and its diamond partners will sponsor 20 children at SOS Children’s Villages and supply necessities for 17 SOS Children’s Villages in one year.

Furthermore, the company will pay visits, present gifts and organize other activities to create a healthy playground for children of these villages. Thanks to this commitment, around 3,000 disadvantaged kids there are expected to get better physical and mental care.

So far, Amway Vietnam has provided more than US$1 million in aid for 18,322 underprivileged children throughout the country.
