Vietnamese movie Co Ba Sai Gon (which is known in English as The Tailor) will be screened at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which is set to take place from October 12 to 21 in South Korean city Busan, according to local media reports.

The second production by actress Ngo Thanh Van will be shown in “A Window of Asia Cinema” category which is dedicated to new productions of Asian filmmakers and the most outstanding Asian movies of the year.

The film, set in the context of an old Saigon, is promising to give spectators a glimpse into the image of ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) through a story about a young girl called Nhu Y in the journey of self-discovery.

As a producer, Van wants to promote Vietnamese culture to international friends and the screening of the film at the prestigious film festival in Korea serves as an important step for the young actress to fulfill her dream.

Her debut production Tam Cam: The Untold Story was introduced at the Busan film festival last year.

Co Ba Sai Gon, directed by Tran Buu Loc and starring Hong Van, Diem My, Ngo Thanh Van, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc and Diem My 9X, is scheduled to hit the local cinema on November 10.

Launched in 1996, BIFF is the leading annual film festival in Asia where outstanding filmmakers will have the opportunity to show off their talents and introduce cinematographic works to the international community.
