Since Nguyen Hue Boulevard and Bui Vien Street in the backpacker’s area were made pedestrian-only, they have emerged as bustling venues with diverse entertainment and recreational programs to entertain city dwellers and international visitors to HCMC, especially on weekends.

However, the city’s most dynamic and vivid pedestrian streets have also become venues for many people of all ages to earn their daily bread by different jobs.

For many people, the night is an ideal time for family reunion and relaxation after a hard-working day but there are still many people, especially women, who spend a lot of time and effort so as to earn a living on a daily basis.

Here are some snapshots taken by The Saigon Times Daily’s Thanh Hoa.
