The 7th Dalat Flower Festival with its theme “Flowers of Dalat – Miracle from the Good Earth” is scheduled to take place from December 23 to 27 in the cities of Dalat, Bao Loc and some other areas in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.

One of the highlights of this year’s festival is the Lam Dong Week of Tea Culture that will be included for the first time within the framework of the Dalat Flower Festival, the organizing committee told a press conference last week. In addition, the festival will feature activities to promote silk products of Bao Loc.

A variety of beautiful flowers will be displayed around the romantic Xuan Huong Lake, recreational parks, tourist sites and residential areas in the city. Notably, enterprises from the Netherlands, Japan and Korea will join the flower festival.

The opening ceremony of the flower festival slated for 8 p.m. on December 23 at Lam Vien Square in central Dalat City is expected to attract the participation of 500,000 visitors. The 6th flower festival in 2015 lured more than 500,000 visitors.

Vo Ngoc Hiep, chairman of Dalat City and head of the organizing committee, said that more than 600 lodging facilities in the city of Dalat have signed a commitment not to push up the room prices during the forthcoming festival.

The number of visitors, especially those from abroad to Dalat City, has been on the rise in recent years. International tourist arrivals in the hilly resort city last year amounted to 282,000, Hiep added.
