Saigontourist Holding Company, Vietnam’s leading tourism and hotel firm, is joining the 9th tourism program in Bac Kan Province that promotes the heritage sites in the northern upland and images of the northeast and the northwest.

As part of the program, Saigontourist and its member units including Binh Quoi Tourist Village, Saigon-Ba Be Tourist Site, Saigon-Halong Hotel and Saigontourist-Ban Gioc Tourist Site are running a 250-square-meter food stall at the Ba Be-Bac Kan Tourism Week.

The food booth characterized by the unique culture of the southern region is expected to give visitors an opportunity to experience the true taste of specialties from the north, the south and the center of Vietnam. Visitors can also gain hands-on experience in the art of fruit and vegetable carving and play folk games.

On the occasion, the company will participate in an investment promotion conference to be held at Bac Kan Province’s Cultural Center on November 19. At the event, the company is expected to introduce eco-tourism potential and unique traditional culture in Ba Be District and promote its four-star Saigon-Ba Be Eco Tourist Site.

The tourism program is an annual event co-organized by six provinces - Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. Hosted by Bac Kan Province, the event is taking place from November 15 to 21 while the opening ceremony will be organized on November 18 in Po Lu Hamlet, Nam Mau Commune, Ba Be District with an aim to strengthen cultural exchange and tourism cooperation among the northern provinces.

Within the framework of the program, tourists will have a chance to join cultural exchange and sport activities, admire a lantern festival and a photo exhibition and savor exotic local food. One of the highlights of the program is the Ba Be-Bac Kan Tourism Week 2017.

Saigontourist is putting on several tours to the mountainous northeast region of Vietnam. In particular, a six-day tour of Ha Giang-Dong Van-Cao Bang-Ban Gioc Waterfall-Pac Bo Cave-Ba Be Lake-Thai Nguyen departing from Hanoi is priced at VND6.479 million per person while another similar tour departing from HCMC costs VND8.979 million.

Tran Hung Viet, general director of Saigontourist, said in a statement that the northeastern and the northwestern regions of the nation hold great tourism potentials, so his company will design tour programs to step up tourism development there.

Saigontourist has been implementing numerous projects in these regions, contributing hundreds of billions of Vietnam dong to local State budget revenues and creating jobs for more than 400 people, especially those from ethnic minorities.

The two regions are included in Saigontourist’s business development strategy as some four-star hotels, such as Saigon-Halong and Majestic Mong Cai in Quang Ninh Province and Saigon-Ban Gioc in Cao Bang Province have been put into operation.

The company’s four-star Saigon-Phu Tho Hotel in Phu Tho Province is scheduled to be up and running while Saigon-Ba Be in Bac Kan Province will be ready soon.

Saigontourist Travel Service Co., a travel arm of Saigontourist, is ready to offer tours to the northeast and the northwest for domestic and foreign tourists.

Besides, the company always organizes charity activities for poor people in the two regions and teams up with local authorities to develop human resources for the hospitality industry.

Saigontourist Holding Company, established in August 1975, is active in four sectors: hotels and resorts, restaurants, travel services and entertainment. It currently manages over 100 hotels, resorts, restaurants and travel companies and entertainment parks in different parts of the country.
