Six South Korean archers of the Doosan team that won the Silver Medal in the Atlanta Olympics have spent a week in Vietnam training the Vietnamese National Archery Team.

This is the fourth training rotation of the six-year program that was signed in 2013 between Doosan, Doosan Vina, Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Vietnam’s National Archery Team.

The Doosan Korean Olympic silver medal archers arrived in Hanoi to deliver advanced training from December 4 to 8, 2017.  This training session is designed to help build confidence and prepare the Vietnamese team for international competition.

This and the three previous training stints that have been held in Vietnam and Korea are part of the activities covered in the Memorandum of Cooperation that also include provision of financial assistance, equipment, skill and technical training.

The Archery Team of Doosan Korea was founded on July 1, 1994, consists of six members and is the leading Korean international archery team.  The team has won several awards in international meets that include a Silver Medal at the Olympics in Atlanta (1996), World Champions, two gold medals in the 1997 Korean Archery finals and a Gold Medal in Men’s at the 2008 Korean Nationals as well as the National Overall Trophy and a third place in the 2009 Nationals.
