Vietnam’s first university accepts SAT scores for university admissions

The Vietnam National University – Hanoi has become the first educational institution of Vietnam to recognize the American assessment test for university admissions as students are allowed to submit their Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) results for the first time to apply for entrance to the university.

A representative of the university was quoted by local media as saying that the university will accept SAT scores for university admission in the new school year apart from the results of the high school graduation exam, the competency assessment test and the A-Level Cambridge International Examination.

The university, one of the most prestigious education institutions in Vietnam, is rolling up its sleeves to enroll more than 8,500 students this year for multiple programs such as natural sciences and technology, social sciences, economics, business administration, education, law, medicine and pharmacy.

The university plans to open new courses in space technology, robotics, German language studies and school administration with an aim to provide a highly-qualified workforce for the labor market.

Vietnam National University-Hanoi secured the 139th position in the QS Asia University Rankings 2017 compiled by a U.K.-based company specializing in education and overseas studies.
