HCMC – Experts at a roundtable talk themed “How to apply technology”held by the Saigon Times Group on Saturday advised enterprises to earmark funds for technology so as to enhance their business efficiency and easily reach out to customers.

Lam Nguyen Hai Long, CEO of Quang Trung Software City Development Company Limited, said applying technology is not too expensive but it helps raise productivity and facilitate governance. He encouraged enterprises of all sizes, including small ones, to invest in technology.

Discussing the importance of technology in business, Long suggested enterprises to pick prestigious technology carriers to deliver solutions, saying that choosing the right vendor was a major factor to ensure development and keep data safe.

Besides, he also recommended pouring 10-15% of profit into technology. However, Long also warned against overspending in technology beyond the real need of enterprises.

CEO for Mat Bao Corporation Huynh Ngoc Duy stressed that enterprises should weigh carefully what technologies are needed, as rampant investment in technology would lead to failure in applications and losses.

Duy said that reasonable investment in technology platformswould determine success and high efficiency in business. The CEO also took an example of Anbooks Company Limited, whose success in applying QR Code apps has well paid off.

Anbooks CEO joining the roundtable agreed, saying technology has brought about great success.

“Technology creates an effective working environment for Anbooks Co Ltd”, said Ngo Phuong Thao, director of the company, explaining that thanks to Messenger, a chat app of Facebook, the company’s book sales surged handsomely.

Previously, Anbooks struggled with sales of a book titled Quay ganh bang dong ra the gioi by Nguyen Phi Van, selling only 5,000 books after years. However, since launching apps, the company was able to sell as many as 20,000 books within just four months.

Thao noted that Anbooks simply applied low-cost technology like Messenger and QR Code which connect authors with readers but get a significant achievement.
