The Tailor wins Golden Kite Award for Best Feature

“Co Ba Sai Gon” (The Tailor) defeated its major rivals “Em chua 18” (Jailbait) and “Co gai den tu hom qua” (The girl from yesterday) to win the Golden Kite Award for Best Feature.

The Vietnam Cinema Association announced the award at the 2017 Golden Kite Awards ceremony in Hanoi early this week, news website Vietnamplus reports.

Directed by Loc Tran and Kay Nguyen, The Tailor features the lifestyle of Saigonese as well as the history of ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) and the culture of Vietnam. Its cast include Ngo Thanh Van, Ninh Duong Lan Ngoc, Diem My and People’s Artist Hong Van.

“Thuong Nho O Ai” (Who stole my heart) won Best TV Series and Best TV Series Director went to directors Luu Trong Ninh and Bui Tho Thinh.

Nha Phuong won Best Actress in a Leading Role of Feature Film award for her part in “Yeu Di Dung So” (Kiss and Spell) while Kieu Minh Tuan (Hoang in “Em Chua 18”) was named Best Actor in a Leading Role of Feature Film. The Best Director of Feature Film award went to Le Thanh Son in Jailbait.

The Golden Kite Awards ceremony also honored actors and actresses in supporting roles, musicians, cameramen and film editors in animation, short films, scientific films and documentaries.
