The seventh Hoa Phuong Do (Red Flamboyant Flower) Festival with the theme “Haiphong reaching out to the sea” took place in the northern port city of Haiphong over the weekend, with numerous festivities to appeal visitors.

Haiphong is renowned as the city of red flamboyant with thousands of flamboyant trees turning the city red during summer. The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival was held not only to herald the vibrant red flower season but also to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day, which falls on May 13.

The festival culminated in a gala night on May 12 that featured music performance in praise of the city’s development and international integration and a low-range display of fireworks lasting 15 minutes.
