TAEL Partners injects capital into Vietnam’s education

HCMC – The Institution of American Education (IAE) has been financed with a huge sum of capital from TAEL Partners to expand its network of educational facilities, marking the first time the fund has injected money into Vietnam’s education, VnEconomy reports.

Under the cooperation, TAEL will fund IAE and IvyPrep Education, a subsidiary of IAE, to build training centers that will equip Vietnamese students with essential knowledge and skills for their studies in the U.S. and elsewhere. The exact investment amount is not disclosed, but it is reported to amount to tens of millions of dollars.

IvyPrep Education will leverage the fund for further expansion and developing a model called College-Preparatory Schools (CollegePrep) specializing in overseas-study preparation training. This model is aimed to provide quality courses in academic English, standardized test preparations for international certificates, programming, robotics, mathematics and science and soft skills.

It will also provide preparatory programs for Cambridge and U.S. high school diplomas. Therefore, students will be eligible to take international exams for high school diplomas, which will allow them to apply for scholarships abroad.

According to IvyPrep Education managing director Nguyen Thi An Quyen, IvyPrep will strongly focus on developing online training systems, applying Industry 4.0 to enhance quality, and enabling teaching and learning activities to be conducted on a large scale. All of its centers’ designs simulate those of U.S. universities.

IAE was established by educators who previously were overseas students from the U.S., the UK, Australia, and Germany. It is among the largest private educational groups in Vietnam, annually enrolling over 40,000 students for its nine subsidiaries, comprising universities, colleges, high schools, foreign language centers, and design institutions.

TAEL is one of the top private capital investors in Southeast Asia, and currently managing portfolios worth billions of dollars. It has earlier invested in Vietnamese enterprises in such sectors as food, agriculture, medicine, and real estate.
