HCMC – Nhat Nghe Tinh (Master One Trade) Bookcase of the Saigon Times Foundation (STF), a unit of the Saigon Times Group, in collaboration with the Supporting Committee for Vietnamese People in Germany and Tre Publishing House, on June 13 officially rolled out a new set of engineering books at Cao Thang Technical College in HCMC after eight years.

The book collection is aimed at contributing to the building of a skilled workforce, providing training on both theory and practice.

The set of six books is recognized as meeting the textbook requirements for students at vocational colleges and universities in Vietnam.

The books, whose translated versions are the result of experts’ combined efforts, involve mechanical engineering, electric-electronic engineering, modern motorcycle-auto engineering, mechatronics, chemical technology, biology and biology engineering.

These books, from German publisher Europa-Lehrmittel, will play a key role in vocational training programs, having been translated into Vietnamese and published in Vietnam for the first time.

Pham Nam Huong, manager of Nhat Tinh Nghe Bookcase, said it took 100 experts in various fields eight years to translate the six books.

Tre Publishing House director Nguyen Minh Nhut noted that the publisher had joined the Nhat Nghe Tinh Bookcase project in 2012 and received the first translation of the mechanics book at that time. The book was published a year later and was conferred the title of “most interesting book of 2013,” he added.

The books on electric-electronic engineering, modern motorcycle-auto engineering and mechatronics were rolled out in 2014, 2016 and 2017, respectively.

Tran Ngoc Chau, STF public relations manager, said the idea for the Nhat Nghe Tinh Bookcase was formed during the establishment of the Saigon Times Group, noting that after the foundation’s inception in 2002, the proposal was put into action.

Two books on environmental engineering and plastic technology will be added to the bookcase by the end of 2018, said Pham Nam Huong.
