Japanese violists Masakazu Saito, Shunichiro Sato, Kumiko Nakagawa and Tetsuya Osawa will perform in the central city of Danang on June 26 and 27 as part of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan, the Vietnam News Agency reports.

Usuda Reiko, a member of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Kawasaki, said the quartet will perform at Nguyen Hien Dinh Theater from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on June 26, and at the Municipal Library from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 27.

The Japanese artists will also organize a live show at the city’s oncology center from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on June 27, Reiko said.

The not-for-profit concert has been endorsed by the Japanese Embassy, the Danang Union of Friendship Organizations, and the Japan Business Association in Danang.

It is supported by musicians Le Cat Trong Ly and Nguyen Thanh Tu, Tetsuji Honna - music director and head conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Japanese lacquer artist Saeko Ando, and Vietnamese-American writer Le Ly Hayslip.

Reiko said she used inheritance money from her mother to bring the Japanese quartet to Vietnam to promote cultural and arts exchange between the countries.
