HCMC - Football legend and superstar Michael Owen, in collaboration with sportswear maker ANIFA, has debuted his new fashion line MICHAE10WEN in Vietnam.

Owen’s collaboration with ANIFA is his first venture into the fashion industry. Backed by the ANIFA’s expertise and experience in the garment industry, Owen’s team has produced MICHAE10WEN, a new fashion line of advanced sportswear that is functional, stylish and in vogue.

Owen was in HCMC on August 13 to showcase his new sportswear line. He personally opened the fashion show, adorning his favorite piece of the collection. Vietnam fans were the first in the world to view some of the pieces specifically created for this show.

“It is indeed very exciting to be here in Vietnam for the first time and it gives me great pleasure to share with fans here two of my greatest passions – football and business. I hope to bring the same level of passion to my role now as a businessman and as a mentor to our future generations. That is why I started the Michael Owen Football Training Centers (MOFT) and this project is growing globally. We also hope to find potential MOFT centers in Vietnam,” Owen said at the event.

Besides scouting for suitable MOFT centers, Owen’s team is also in Vietnam to look for expansion through franchisees, and plans to start a new retail concept store that targets Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and young executives.

Michael James Owen is a former English national footballer who played as a striker for internationally renowned football clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United. His prodigious football skills led to an early start in his professional football career, beginning with a record-breaking 28 goals in 20 games during his time in the England U-15 and U-16 teams.

He has received numerous awards for his talents, including the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player Award (1998), World Soccer World Player of the Year (2001) and the prestigious Ballon d’Or (2001). He was awarded the Golden Foot in 2017 in recognition of his status as a football legend.
