Flight delays, cancellations can lead to slot loss

As flight delays and cancellations remain a chronic problem, the Ministry of Transport has warned domestic airlines that they may lose their take-off and landing slots if they delay and cancel too many flights without good reasons.

Some 37 sites in HCMC are prone to landslides, and the number is forecast to increase due to climate change and complicated weather developments in the rainy season this year, reported Nguoi Lao Dong news website.

Floodwater level may rise to 4.2m in Mekong Delta

The National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting on August 23 announced that water level in the Mekong River is on the rise. Floodwaters from the upstream areas will increasingly flow to the Mekong Delta River, causing the water level there to likely surge to a maximum 4.2 meters. Therefore, low-lying and riverside areas in An Giang, Dong Thap, and Long An provinces may face flooding and inundation in the coming days, local media reported.
