HANOI – The head of Next Media Company has said the copyright for the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 will be offered free to organizations or units who seek to broadcast the football games.

The AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 football tournament will see 10 teams compete from November 8th to December 15th.

Nguyen Trung Kien, general director of Next Media Company, said on October 12 that the copyright for broadcasting the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 is free, but organizations or units who seek to broadcast the football tournament must be approved by Next Media, in order to comply with international and Vietnamese copyright regulations.

Next Media, the only company in Vietnam to purchase the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 football license from Lagardere Sports, the global copyright holder, redistributes their broadcasts to other channels in Vietnam, such as pay TV, cable TV, IPTV, OTT (Internet TV), mobile TV, social networks, mobile networks, and other broadcasting outlets.

According to the Next Media general director, Green Communications Joint Stock Company will be the commercial unit that supervises the license for broadcasting the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 in Vietnam on all platforms.

Next Media and Green Communications have also signed a cooperation agreement to supervise the broadcast license of AFF Suzuki Cup 2018, together with VTV Cab, VTC Digital Television, and VOV radio.

Current media trends allow audiences to access diverse, multi-channel media. Le Thanh, Chairman of Green Communications, believes that broadcasting AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 on multiple platforms, apart from television, will give the Vietnamese community the opportunity to "live with football."
