Toyota Vietnam presents scholarships to young music talents

HCMC - Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on October 23 presented 85 scholarships worth VND6 million each to young Vietnamese music talents from five musical schools nationwide.

The Toyota Scholarship for Young Vietnamese Music Talents 2018 aims to encourage the study spirit of young music talents as well as to contribute to the human resource and music culture development in Vietnam.

With total value of VND510 million, the scholarship recipients are from five music schools, namely Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hue Musical Institute, HCMC Conservatory of Music, Tay Bac Musical College and Viet Bac Musical College.

Besides, in order to promote, conserve and develop the traditional music of Vietnam, TMV continues to grant traditional musical instruments to these institutes with total value of VND90 million.

Especially, this year, students have chances to exchange with Nguyen Thanh Trung, a Para Swimmer that is chosen as a “Hero of Change” of Hero Project in Vietnam under “Start Your Impossible” campaign. Despite his difficult condition and disadvantages, his outstanding efforts and perseverance to achieve the first Gold medal for Vietnam at the Asian Para Games 2018 has proved that nothing is impossible to make dreams come true. His personal story has deeply inspired the students and is a great motivation for them to try more to achieve better result in study and contribute to the development and prosperity of the country in the future.

Over the last 10 years, there have been 900 Toyota scholarships granted to excellent students. Besides, this program has created chances for students to practice and perform with professional orchestras at big music events such as Toyota Classics and Toyota Concert. Many students have also received prestigious awards at international music contests or received scholarships to study abroad.

Toyota Scholarship for Young Vietnamese Music Talents is an annual program of TMV that comes from all proceeds of ticket sales at Toyota Classics and Toyota Concert programs.
