HCMC – Saigontourist Travel Service Company has signed a cooperation agreement with Dubai-based Sharaf Travel to boost tourism, in an effort to increase the number of tourists travelling by air and sea between the two countries.

According to Saigontourist, the cooperation is aimed to foster tourism by air and sea between Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in general and the Gulf country's travel hub Dubai in particular. Under the agreement, the two tourism organizations will collaborate in promotional activities. Saigontourist Holding Company, the parent firm of Saigontourist Travel Service Company, is expected to supply restaurant and hotel services to the Dubai partner's guests.

Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, will become two tourist destinations arranged for Vietnamese visitors’ outbound tours, a representative of Saigontourist said, adding that hundreds of tourists purchase tours from the company to travel to the two cities in the UAE and western Asia each year.

Apart from the deal with Sharaf Travel that was signed during the the HCMC leader’s visit to the UAE from October 22 to 25, Saigontourist also clinched agreements with Kuwaiti travel firms on the occasion.

Sharaf Travel is one major travel management company in the UAE. The group has 14 offices to provide travel firms with quality travel services and arrange inbound and outbound tours.

Meanwhile, Saigontourist is Vietnam's leading tourism services provider. Last year, the group catered to 870,000 tourists and earned some VND4.25 trillion in revenue from travel services, up 10% against 2016. Saigontourist is expected to welcome one million visitors this year.
