Thua Thien-Hue needs extra VND10t investment

HCMC – Thua Thien-Hue Province’s 2018 investment promotion plan is expected to attract 15 projects with total pledged capital of some VND10 trillion, equivalent to a quarter of the province’s total funding for the year up to September.

A source from the Department of Planning and Investment of Thua Thien-Hue Province said that the province intends to call for investment in all fields, prioritizing tourism, real estate, information technology, hi-tech and infrastructure projects.

In addition to calling on major domestic investors, Thua Thien-Hue Province expects South Korean, Singaporean, Thai, Japanese, Hong Kong, American and European investors to fund projects in the province.

According to a press release publicized by the province, reporting its socioeconomic performance, the province attracted 25 projects with total funding of more than VND40.6 trillion over the January-September period of 2018. Meanwhile, under the investment promotion plan, Thua Thien-Hue Province set a target amounting to a quarter of the sum.

To fulfill the target, the province will spend more than VND2.2 billion on investment promotion programs and a database for promotion activities.

As scheduled, the province will call for investment in some 20 projects to be mainly developed in Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone, industrial zones, the An Van Duong new urban area, Hue City and other localities. Besides this, the province plans to open international air routes to Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Thailand and to upgrade Phu Bai Airport.
