DANANG - The fourth Cam Ha mandarin bonsai trees festival took place in Trang Keo Park in Cam Ha Commune, Hoi An City last weekend, attracting hundreds of gardeners and thousands of visitors.

The mandarin season in Cam Ha has reached its peak as the Lunar New Year holiday (Tet) is approaching.

The festival showcased dozens of mandarin bonsai trees with unique shapes created by  famous bonsai gardeners in the commune. Visitors also had a chance to taste food and drinks made from mandarin such as mandarin juice, mandarin syrup, mandarin jam, mandarin wine and delicacies of the central region such as cao lau (Hoi An noodle), mi Quang (Quang noodle), and banh xeo (Vietnamese pancake).

There are currently nearly 1,000 mandarin tree gardeners in Cam Ha, with a total area of 200 hectares. Mandarin trees are grown all year round but their peak season lasts from the 12th lunar month to Tet. During this season, gardeners are busy trimming their mandarin trees and making cement pots.
