HCMC - The HCMC government has asked the municipal Department of Home Affairs to coordinate with other relevant departments and agencies to propose penalties for individuals and organizations involved in violations affecting the first metro line project in the city, in line with the conclusions of the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) after auditing the project, the local media reported.

The Department of Planning and Investment was also assigned to team up with the Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) of HCMC, the Department of Finance and other relevant agencies to review the project’s execution and contracts for packages for the project as well as determine the accurate investment totals in the project. The results of these tasks should be reported to the municipal government before January 20.

Further, MAUR and units audited by SAV are responsible for fulfilling SAV’s requirements and reporting the results to the HCMC People’s Committee prior to March 31.

Meanwhile, the Department of Finance will study SAV’s recommendations on the review and amendment of the compensation for households affected by the project and the relocation of some facilities. The foreign capital used for the project must be declared in the report on the city’s budget settlement report.
