DANANG – The Management Board of Urban Development Areas of Thua Thien-Hue Province has announced the shortlist of investors for the Hue Tourism Market project.

My Way Hue JSC was the only investor shortlisted for the project, which covers 18.2 hectares of land. If only one investor is shortlisted, the provincial leader designates the investor for the project in line with regulations.

However, Nguyen Van Phuc, deputy head of the Tourism Department of Thua Thien- Hue Province, told the Saigon Times that the provincial leader is seeking more investors.

One year ago on May 31, 2018, the Thua Thien-Hue government approved the scale-1/5000 plan for the Hue Tourism Market project, due to be built in An Dong Ward, Hue City, and Thuy Duong Ward in Thua Thien-Hue Province’s Huong Thuy Town.

To date, the selection of investors in the project has not been completed, Phuc said, adding that the process is moving at a slow pace as the study of other components of the project is taking a while.

The Hue Tourism Market project will be developed into a hotel, recreation area, park and commerce and service complex. Its core area is expected to cover a space of green trees, a park and a square, whereas the commercial area will include many groups arranged around the core area.

Tourism markets, floating markets and duty-free stores will also be arranged and connected with internal traffic systems.

Besides this, the province is calling for investment in a 10-hectare resort and tourism project in Loc Dien Commune in Phu Loc District.

The project, with a total investment of an estimated VND100 billion, exclusive of land rent, will offer a resort and tourism area as well as food services and entertainment activities at Cau Hai Lagoon.

The project has been added to Thua Thien-Hue Province’s list of projects that require investment in 2019, with a vision toward 2020.
