French pianist to play left-hand works at IDECAF

HCMC - French pianist Maxime Zecchini will play piano works for the left hand at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) in HCMC on February 23.

He will perform masterpieces by Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Ravel, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Pierre Sancan, and Michel Legrand.

Maxime Zecchin was born in Paris in 1979. He began his study at the National Conservatory of Music of Lyon, where, in June 2001, he earned the National Diploma of Higher Musical Studies with the highest honors.

Maxime is the first French pianist to receive a degree from the prestigious Incontri col Maestro Academy in Imola, Italy. He has won top prizes at many competitions such as the international competition in Arcachon in 2000, the Ragusa-Ibla competition in 2002 and the international competition at Varenna-Lake Como in 2003.

He has played with numerous orchestras including Shanghai’s Opera, Kiev’s Philharmonic, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Nijni-Novgorod Orchestra, and performed at prestigious halls in Paris and in many festivals and concerts around the world.

Maxime Zecchin’s concert in HCMC will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets cost VND300,000, with a special concession for students of VND100,000.
