HCMC - An exhibition featuring photos on Vietnam’s land and people and sculptures by Hungarian sculptor Farkas Aladar on Vietnam’s late President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam War opened in Hungary on February 16, Vietnamplus news website reports.

The event was held at the Culture and Community Activities House of Szekesfehervar City in central Hungary, which is over 60 kilometers from the Hungarian capital Budapest, by the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, Szekesfehervar authorities, and the Friends of Hungarian Military and Society Association.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Tien Thuc thanked the Hungarian Government and people for their support for Vietnam during the resistance war against the U.S. in the past.

He spoke highly of the role of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association and Vietnamese students and communities in Hungary in fostering the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The exhibition is the first in a series of activities co-organized by the association and the Vietnamese Embassy to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Hungary (February 3) and Vietnam’s 45th Reunification Day (April 30).

The exhibition runs until early March.
