HCMC - Artist Vu Dinh Tuan is showcasing a collection of illustrations and small paintings at Hanoi Studio Gallery.

The January’s Gossips exhibition features more than 100 artworks that Tuan has composed for years.

Tuan has been invited by many newspapers and magazines to make illustratios for literary works. In the field of silk paintings and wood carvings, where he is a leading artist, the composing process always requires precision and meticulousness. While with illustrations and small paintings, it seems that this is the field where Tuan is free to be creative.

“Small or large, it is the size that differs. Small paintings usually happen in a sudden moment. They are condensed, vivid and unexpected,” Tuan said.

“Small paintings and artistic literary illustrations are often the beginning of large works and great artists. Big paintings or small paintings, they all need to start with love, to be nurtured in love and to bring love.”

The exhibition runs until March 1.
