HCMC - The Korean Cultural Center in Hanoi is showcasing 47 folk paintings by 46 artists from the Korean Folk Painting Association, the Vietnam News Agency reports.

The “See the future through the past” exhibition offers an opportunity for South Korea and Vietnam to promote exchanges through traditional paintings.

The colorful paintings show joy, happiness and aspiration of Korean people through various topics such as animals, flowers and trees, household objects, and young women.

The Korean Folk Painting Association is the largest art organization in Korea with 1,500 members. It’s mission is to preserve and promote Korean folk paintings.
