HCMC – Two hospitals in HCMC and Can Tho City have announced that two coronavirus patients, a local man and a Briton, have made a full recovery, raising Vietnam’s total number of recovered cases to 171 as of this afternoon, April 15.

Can Tho City’s Tuberculosis and Lung Disease Hospital in the Mekong Delta has discharged the 145th patient, who is a 34-year-old resident of HCMC. He tested negative for the new coronavirus three times between April 12 and 14.

He returned to Vietnam through Can Tho International Airport on March 22. On arrival, he showed no symptoms of Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2.

The other recovered patient, confirmed as the 235th case, tested negative for the virus three times between April 6 and 9 while he was being treated at Cu Chi field hospital in HCMC. The 25-year-old Briton on March 14 had visited Buddha Bar, which is one of the country’s largest infection clusters.

The two patients will have to self-isolate for another 14 days after being discharged from hospital.
