HCMC - Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh has allowed the resumption of international commercial flights between Vietnam and some partners from today, September 15, Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.

Air routes between Vietnam and Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (South Korea) and Taipei (Taiwan) are reopened from September 15, while flights between Vietnam and Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and Vientiane (Laos) will be resumed from September 22. Airlines are allowed to operate at most two flights per week for each route.

Foreigners holding diplomatic passports and their relatives are required to have a certificate proving they are not infected with Covid-19. The certificate must be issued by relevant agencies of their country within three days before the departure day. They will be tested for Covid-19 again on arriving in Vietnam and quarantined at their office or a hotel.

Foreign experts, investors, skilled workers, students and their relatives are also required to have a certificate proving they are not infected with Covid-19. They will be tested for Covid-19 again and quarantined at their office, factory or a hotel after entering Vietnam.

The requirements are the same for Vietnamese but they will be quarantined at centers managed by the military or hotels.

People who test negative for Covid-19 twice (once before departure day and once after arriving in Vietnam) have to undergo a compulsory five-day quarantine period. After that, they will self-quarantine at home or office with health supervision from local health authorities.

People who transit in a third country will have to undergo a compulsory 14-day quarantine period when arriving in Vietnam.
