HCMC - The Health Ministry confirmed two new imported Covid-19 cases this afternoon, September 18, taking the country’s total infections to 1,068.

Both of the male patients are 36 years old and live in the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau, one residing in Vien An Commune, Ngoc Hien District, while the other is from Thanh Phu Commune, Cai Nuoc District.

The two men tested positive for Covid-19 on September 11 when they were in Pakistan. On September 15, they returned to Vietnam from Pakistan on flight QH461, which transited in Qatar and South Korea.

The patients were taken to a quarantine center in Khanh Hoa Province right after arriving at Cam Ranh International Airport and their samples were sent to the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute for Covid-19 testing again on September 16. They are undergoing treatment at the Cam Lam District Medical Center in Khanh Hoa Province.

Up to now, 941 Covid-19 patients in Vietnam have completely recovered, including one who was discharged from Danang Lung Hospital today, while 35 patients have died.
