HANOI – After 20 years of operations, Viettel Telecom, a subsidiary of military-run telecom giant Viettel Group, has targeted to earn a revenue of VND100 trillion in 2025, or more than US$4 billion, equivalent to one-ninth of its total revenue over the past 20 years, it was announced at a ceremony to celebrate Viettel Telecom’s 20th anniversary and receive the Second-Class Labor Medal on October 15.

Besides this, the firm will offer broadband and super broadband internet services to all households in 2025 while pivoting toward a digital telecom enterprise and pioneering fifth-generation and Internet of Things technologies.

Viettel Telecom, which has some 70 million customers nationwide, will also digitalize sales activities and focus on customer-centric orientation to contribute to fulfilling its target in 2025.

Over the past 20 years, Viettel Telecom has earned some VND900 trillion in revenue, made VND200 trillion in profit and contributed over VND100 trillion to the State budget. The firm has acted as a main driver to help the Viettel Group become Vietnam’s leading information technology and telecom group, which has emerged as one of the world’s top 15 largest telecommunications companies.

Entering the telecom market on October 15, 2000, with a chartered capital of VND2.3 billion and over 100 employees, Viettel chose the interprovincial and international VoIP service to do business. Due to the high demand and high quality of the service, Viettel quickly recouped capital in a short period.
