Twelve more Vietnamese returnees test positive for Covid-19

HCMC - The Ministry of Health has reported 12 new Covid-19 patients who were quarantined after they returned to Vietnam from France, Germany, Russia and Angola, taking the country’s tally to 1,160 as of tonight, October 24.

Two men, aged 76 and 55, who live in HCMC and Hanoi City, arrived at HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on October 21 from France. They were sent to a concentrated quarantine center in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province after their arrival.

Their test result came back positive for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, on October 24. The two patients are being treated at the Healthcare Center in Long Dien District.

Three other patients, including one woman and two men, aged 43, 38 and 30, were taken to Ninh Binh Province for quarantine after they returned to Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh Province from Russia on October 16. Their second positive test result came out on October 23.

Three other residents of Haiphong and Hanoi cities flew back to Van Don International Airport from Germany on October 23, and were immediately quarantined in Thai Binh Province. The three patients, two men and one woman, aged between 25 and 77, tested positive for the virus today.

Four other patients, aged between 22 and 48, returned to Vietnam from Angola through Van Don Airport on October 20. The residents of Nam Dinh, Hai Duong and Ha Tinh provinces, including three women and one man, are receiving treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi City.

Up to now, as many as 1,051 patients have fully recovered from the virus, while 35 others have died.

Among the remaining active Covid-19 cases, 23 patients have tested negative for the disease one to three times.
