Vietnam reports eight new imported Covid-19 cases

HCMC - The Ministry of Health has reported eight new Covid-19 patients who are returnees from France, Angola and the U.S., taking the country’s tally to 1,168 as of tonight, October 25.

Four patients, aged between 33 and 47, arrived at the HCMC-based Tan Son Nhat International Airport on October 21 from France. They were sent to a quarantine center in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province after their arrival.

They tested positive for Covid-19 on October 24 and are being treated at the Long Dien District Healthcare Center.

Three children, aged between one and five, returned to Vietnam from Angola on flight VN8 on October 20. They were immediately taken to Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province for quarantine after arriving at Van Don International Airport. The patients are undergoing treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The last patient reported today was a 64-year-old man residing in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long. He returned to Vietnam from the U.S. on flight VN431 on October 23, transiting in South Korea. He was transported to Quang Nam Province right after arriving at Danang International Airport. The patient is being treated at Dien Ngoc General Clinic.

Up to now, as many as 1,057 patients in Vietnam have fully recovered from Covid-19, including six people discharged from the hospital today, while 35 patients have died.
