HCMC – Rescuers and competent forces found the body of another worker at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower project—the site of a severe landslide—in Thua Thien-Hue Province on November 22, according to the office of the provincial government.
Of the 17 workers buried by the landslide at a construction site near the plant, this is the sixth body to be found.
The ill-fated victim was discovered in the riverbed of the Rao Trang River after the rescuers had built dams and diverted the river flow for several days to look for the missing workers, the local media reported.
The rescuers are stepping up efforts to search for the remaining victims of the landslide, while Phan Ngoc Tho, chairman of Thua Thien-Hue Province, is present at the site to direct the search and rescue activities.
Earlier, on October 12, a severe landslide occurred, leaving as many as 17 workers at the Rao Trang 3 hydropower project missing and five others injured.
