HCMC – An exhibition showcasing archived documents and photos of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the United States from 1995 to 2020 is taking place at the Archives Center No. 2 in District 1, HCMC.

Co-organized by the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam and the U.S. Consulate General in HCMC, the exhibition is part of the 25th anniversary commemorating the normalization of U.S.-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

Some 200 documents and photos on display highlight the important milestones in the U.S.-Vietnam relationship, including progress in overcoming war legacies and cooperation in expanding cultural, health, scientific, security and people-to-people ties.

U.S. Consul General to HCMC Marie Damour described the exhibition as a great example of how both the governments and citizens of the United States and Vietnam have worked hard toward the goal of shared peace and prosperity.

"From our perspective, the exhibition is very important as we celebrate 25 years of the normalization of the relations. It is important to remember the history, how we got to where we are today, where we came from and the evolution of that relationship,” she added.

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton announced the normalization of relations between the United States and Vietnam on July 11, 1995. Since then, Vietnam has become one of the fastest growing trade partners of the United States.

The exhibition will go on until February 28 with free admission.
