HCMC – The Hanoi government has allowed interprovincial passenger transport services and game and Internet shops to resume from March 16, it was announced at an online meeting chaired by Hanoi Vice Chairman Chu Xuan Dung on March 15.
The municipal health department was tasked with offering guidelines on disease prevention and health declaration to passengers.
Meanwhile, people visiting game or Internet shops must make health declarations and maintain a safe physical distance of at least one meter, the local media reported.
Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the municipal Department of Health, told the meeting that the city had gone 28 consecutive days without locally-transmitted Covid-19 cases, while as many as 90 medical workers had been injected with the Covid-19 vaccine.
Some 1,390 of 4,000 samples taken for testing came back negative for Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
The risk of Covid-19 infection in Hanoi City remained high, Hanoi Vice Chairman Dung said, adding that despite the resumption of many non-essential services, service operators and residents should continue to strictly follow anti-Covid-19 measures.
The vice chairman also assigned the Hanoi Department of Health to continue conducting Covid-19 tests on people in residential areas and at industrial parks to prevent the potential spread of Covid-19.
Speaking at the meeting, director of the municipal Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha said that the departments and agencies should not be inattentive and negligent in the fight against Covid-19 as many experts had warned of a number Covid-19 variants in the world. As such, Covid-19 screening should be considered a key mission.
