HANOI – VinaFreight Company (VNF) will sell nearly 2.8 million shares at VND20,000 each to raise VND55.8 billion. Of the proceeds, it will spend VND47 billion purchasing shares in Mipec Port Company and the remainder supplementing its working capital. VNF bought 10 million shares in Mipec Port at VND157.7 billion, in which over VND110.7 billion was paid at the end of the second quarter.

HCMC – Vietcombank (VCB) will auction 45.6 million shares, equivalent to 3.69% of outstanding shares, of Eximbank (EIB) at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on October 22. The starting price will be VND14,497 per share, versus the current price of EIB of VND13,850 a share. VCB expects to receive VND660 billion from this divestment. After an equity divestment of 53.4 million shares at Military Bank (MBB) earlier this month, VCB will also reduce its holding at EIB to 4.5% to comply with Circular 36, which limits non-subsidiary bank holdings to less than 5%.

HCMC – The VN-Index of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange rose past the 1,000-point level in the afternoon phase today, September 20, driven by strong demand for leading stocks such as consumer goods firm MSN and oil and gas enterprise GAS.

HCMC – HCMC Securities Corporation (HSC) plans to offer 86.3 million shares at a 3-for-2 ratio this year or in the first quarter of 2019 to increase its capital. The firm expects to raise over VND1.2 trillion given the selling price of VND14,000 each. Besides, HSC will sell 6.48 million shares in an employee stock ownership plan at VND14,000 each.

HCMC – Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC (HAG) has registered to buy 24 million shares of its subsidiary Hoang Anh Gia Lai Agricultural JSC (HNG) via put-through transactions from September 19 to October 18. HAG will raise its holdings in HNG to 57.81% or 512.86 million shares, from the current 55.1%. HNG has got approval from its shareholders to issue 87.4 million shares at VND16,000 each in a private placement. The shares will not be tradable within one year from the issuing date. HNG did not give the timeframe of the issuance, expecting to book proceeds of VND1.4 trillion from the sale.

HCMC – Duc Long Gia Lai Group Company (DLG) is seeking permission to invest in five resorts and industrial zones in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. The projects are comprised of Binh An-Phuong Buu resort, Loc An ecological tourism complex, Suoi Ot resort and two industrial zones. In 2018, DLG will also implement build-transfer (BT) projects in HCMC with a total investment of VND7 trillion and receive a combined area of 500 hectares in exchange, said Viet Capital Securities Company. The firm has plans to develop apartment buildings, offices, affordable houses and shopping centers on the area in the next five to 10 years.
