HCMC – Dalat City in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong is expected to attract nearly 180,000 visitors during the four-day national holiday for Vietnam Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1).
Among these visitors, nearly 140,000 will stay at hotels and other lodging facilities, skyrocketing 135% year-on-year, Le Anh Kiet, head of the Dalat City Information and Culture Division, said today, April 20.
Between April 30 and May 2, many tourist sites in the city would be overwhelmed with visitors.
Data indicated that many hotels and lodging facilities in Dalat City have been fully booked for the holiday, the local media reported.
Room rates are expected to spike by 30%-50% against normal days, ranging from VND500,000 to VND1.2 million per room per night.
According to the division, the city has over 2,230 lodging facilities with more than 29,000 rooms and 46,600 beds to serve some 50,000 tourists at a time.
Local authorities have advised visitors to book hotel rooms on legitimate booking websites and platforms to avoid scams.
