HCMC – The national steering committee for coronavirus infection prevention and control said that 27 more coronavirus patients were discharged from hospitals today, April 7, taking the country’s total number of recovered cases to 122.

Seven of them are foreigners while 20 others are Vietnamese, the local media reported.

In Hanoi City, 11 patients under treatment at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases, including a French patient and the 116th case, a 29-year-old doctor at the hospital who was the first front-line doctor to contract the coronavirus, were declared free of the coronavirus.

Nine coronavirus patients in HCMC, with one patient under treatment at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases, four being treated at the Cu Chi field hospital and four others at a coronavirus treatment hospital in Can Gio District, made a full recovery and were released from hospital today.

Two Britons being treated at Hue Central Hospital also recovered from Covid-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.

A nine-year-old female patient and three others aged 26, 23 and 33 under treatment at Sa Dec General Hospital in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap were confirmed as having recovered today.

In Ben Tre Province, the 123rd patient, a 17-year-old woman, recovered from the disease. Her test results came back negative for the virus three times.

The recovered cases will continue to practice self-isolation for 14 days to be monitored, in line with the Ministry of Health’s regulations.
