HCMC – Eighty domestic Covid-19 cases were reported in four localities this afternoon, June 4, taking the country’s total number of domestic infections in this resurgence to 5,087.

Among the latest cases, Bac Giang Province accounted for the most, 44, Bac Ninh Province detected 23 cases, while HCMC and Hanoi had 11 and two, respectively.

The Ministry of Health has so far today reported 132 Covid-19 cases. The pandemic has spread to 37 cities and provinces nationwide since the beginning of the current Covid-19 wave.

As for the 11 new Covid-19 cases in HCMC, nine were linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission and two were found after they had medical checkups at FV Hospital in District 7.

The two are residents of Thu Duc City and their sources of infection are being investigated.

The nine linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission had been quarantined earlier, including five in Thu Duc, three in Binh Tan and one in Go Vap.

Thus, Thu Duc City has detected seven Covid-19 cases. Last night, the Management Board of the Saigon Hi-tech Park announced that the testing of workers in the hi-tech park would be delayed as medical workers have been mobilized for the fight against the pandemic in Thu Duc.

In the current Covid-19 wave, HCMC has recorded 298 Covid-19 patients in 21 out of 22 districts, ranking fourth in the country in terms of the number of locally-infected Covid-19 cases.

According to the HCMC Center for Disease Control, the city may continue detecting new cases with unclear sources of infection as the pandemic might have spread in the community.

The city has prepared response plans for different scenarios. Therefore, residents should not be too anxious and panicky or negligent, subjective and heedless, and should comply with anti-pandemic measures, the city’s decisions and the healthcare sector’s recommendations.

In Hanoi, as centralized quarantine centers have been overloaded and reported many Covid-19 cases, the municipal government has decided to establish two new quarantine facilities, with one at the National University of Civil Engineering in Hai Ba Trung District and another at the Vietnam National University of Forestry in Chuong My District.

The two centers can accommodate 300 and 856 people, respectively.

On June 3, Bac Giang Chairman Le Anh Duong reported to the prime minister that the province would pay for meals of workers under Covid-19 treatment in the province. The money is contributed by individuals and organizations.

Nine more enterprises in the province have been certificated as safe to resume their operation. Thus, 24 enterprises with more than 6,000 laborers in Bac Giang have returned to their normal operation.

Today, the province transported 2,800 workers in Nui Hieu Village in Viet Yen District to centralized quarantine centers to prevent cross infection.
