HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally jumped by 88 as of this afternoon, June 10, including two imported cases and 86 domestic cases, according to the Ministry of Health.
The two imported cases were detected in Kien Giang and An Giang.
Among the 86 domestic infections, 52 were reported in Bac Giang, 15 in HCMC, 10 in Bac Ninh, four in Hanoi, two in Ha Tinh and one each in Lang Son, Hai Duong and Long An. Up to 81 cases were found at quarantine facilities or in areas under lockdown.
As for the cases in HCMC, 10 were linked to the Revival Ekklesia Mission, while the sources of infection of five others remain unknown.
Meanwhile, the new case in Long An is a driver who daily travels between HCMC and Long An Province.
Last night, he came to the medical center of Binh Loi Nhon Commune, Tan An City, Long An Province to undergo a quick Covid-19 test as a person he had met in HCMC had tested positive for Covid-19.
The result came back positive and a later PCR test had the same result.
His neighborhood, including 34 households with 125 residents, has been put on lockdown, while the places where he had visited have been disinfected. As of 11 a.m. today, 11 F1 cases and 26 F2 cases have been found.
In related news, as an F1 case in the Amata Industrial Park in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province has tested negative for Covid-19 twice, more than 850 workers in the same company with this worker have returned to work, said director of the Dong Nai Department of Health Phan Huy Anh Vu.
However, 27 people in close contact with the worker will continue undergoing quarantine at their company.
The provincial Center for Disease Control also asked the 850 workers to limit contact with others and follow pandemic prevention and control measures.
The steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control of Bien Hoa City asked enterprises in the city to work out stronger anti-pandemic measures.
