93 Vietnamese arrive home from UK

Must read

HCMC – Vietnam Airlines brought home 93 Vietnamese nationals from the United Kingdom early this morning.

These Vietnamese passengers – mostly under-18 students, elderly people and those under extraordinary circustances – arrived at Van Don Intenational Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh at 5:30 a.m. thanks to the assistance of the Vietnam Embassy in the UK.

This was the national flag carrier’s sixth repatriation flight for Vietnamese nationals stranded abroad due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The passengers were then whisked to quarantine centers. The prevailing regulations require all arriving passengers to be isolated for 14 days at government-designated quarantine centers and facilities.

Following the prime minister’s directives, Vietnamese representative agencies overseas have been working to bring home Vietnamese nationals stranded abroad due to the outbreak of Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Two days earlier, Vietnam Airlines transported some 100 Britons stranded in Vietnam and Cambodia to their home country, including those who received Covid-19 treatment in Vietnam and fully recovered.

The competent agencies of Vietnam worked up with the UK Embassy in Hanoi to organize the repatriation flight, reported local media.

The flight to the UK also carried face masks as gifts from the Vietnamese Government and people to the Government and people of the UK.
