HCMC – The Politburo, at the second plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee today, March 8, introduced candidates for the country’s top posts: State President, Prime Minister and National Assembly Chairperson.
Speaking at the plenum, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong said the Politburo had carefully reviewed the legal and practical foundation for the introduction and proposed the Party Central Committee allow the election of officials for the leading positions at the 11th sitting of the 14th National Assembly in line with the Party’s rules and the country’s laws.
Trong stressed the importance of following the orientations for the personnel elections approved at the 13th National Party Congress to ensure the united, comprehensive and harmonious leadership of the Party in all aspects and localities and create a general strength, the local media reported.
He added that it is necessary to have an overall view to reach the most suitable personnel arrangement, based on the candidates’ ability, strengths, experience and growth prospects.
The Party General Secretary and State President noted that the personnel arrangement must be carried out in accordance with the Party’s regulations, the Party Central Committee’s working rules and the principle of the Party’s leadership in the management of officials of the entire political system as well as regulations on the State agencies’ organization and operation.
