Due to the complicated development of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, Bac Ninh, Soc Trang and Ben Tre provinces suspended nonessential services and in-person classes.

The northern province of Bac Ninh has allowed students in the provinces to stay at home and asked schools and education centers to conduct online teaching.

The Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang issued an urgent dispatch on May 13 ordering the suspension of festivals, wedding parties, religious events and sports events while temporarily stopping nonessential services such as karaoke parlors, bars, clubs and cinemas from May 14 until further notice.

The Soc Trang government also banned the mass gatherings of over 30 persons in public, while asking production facilities to strictly follow anti-pandemic safety measures, the local media reported.

Kindergartens are asked to shut down from today until further notice, while students of primary and high schools will stay at home after completing their second semester exams prior to May 16.

Following suit, the Ben Tre government suspended festivals, and cultural and sporting activities, closed tourist destinations and allowed students to stay at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The province will also shut down karaoke, spa and massage parlors, Internet and game shops, discos and bars from May 15.
