HCMC – From August 31 to September 4, the HCMC traffic police will clamp down on traffic safety violations and begin an inspection of vehicles after 10 pm.
The Road and Railway Traffic Police Unit (PC08) under the HCMC Department of Public Security announced yesterday it would deploy forces to ensure traffic order during the upcoming holiday.
PC08 forces will crack down on violations likely to cause traffic jams and accidents such as drink driving, speeding, overloading and blowing the red light.
PC08 said it will team up with the traffic policemen of Thu Duc City, traffic inspectors and port and airport management boards to navigate traffic and prevent prolonged congestion.
Meanwhile, it will deploy staff to watch the cameras installed on streets and form patrol teams to handle traffic incidents.
According to the plan, PC08 forces and the traffic policemen of Thu Duc City will be deployed on the streets to navigate traffic at 3 pm on August 31 and 10 am on September 4.
As the traffic volume is forecast to soar during the national holiday, PC08 has advised travelers to obey the traffic law and not drive after drinking alcohol.
