HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang attracted almost 6.6 million visitors in the first 10 months of this year, up over 180% year-over-year.
Kien Giang and other provinces restricted travels last year due to the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, so they have obtained strong travel growth since tourism services were reopened late last year.
Of the 6.6 million tourists, foreigners accounted for 156,580, 78.3% of the target.
Kien Giang’s tourism brought total revenue of VND8,628 billion, up 252,6% against the same period last year.
The province is known for Phu Quoc Island, a favorite destination for local and foreign tourists.
