HCMC – Vietnam’s ST25 fragrant rice has once again been crowned the world’s best rice for the year 2023, beating over 30 rice varieties from 10 countries at the 15th Global Rice Trade Conference held in the Philippines today, November 30.
This accolade marks the second time that ST25 rice has secured this prestigious title, having previously triumphed in 2019.
The Global Rice Trade Conference, organized by The Rice Trader on November 30, serves as a platform for showcasing the finest rice varieties from around the world.
This victory further reinforces Vietnam’s reputation as a global leader in rice production and solidifies its standing as a key player in international rice trade.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, November saw around 700,000 tons of rice exported, generating US$462 million in revenue. This brings the total export volume for the year to 7.75 million tons valued at US$4.41 billion, a 36.3% increase in volume and a 16.2% increase in value versus the same period last year.
