HCMC – Several days after donating nearly 1.5 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Vietnam, the United States has presented over one million more Pfizer doses to the Southeast Asian country, including 608,400 doses that arrived in HCMC on October 7 and 397,800 doses that arrived in Hanoi this morning, October 8.

The U.S. Consulate General in HCMC wrote on its Facebook page that the two batches brought the total number of vaccine donations from the United States to Vietnam to nearly 8.5 million.

“And more is on the way in a few days! This shipment is an example of our commitment to Vietnam in fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic,” according to the U.S Consulate General in HCMC.

In a post announcing the vaccine batch that arrived in HCMC on October 7, the consulate general wrote that “the United States is committed to working with its friends in Vietnam to help end the Covid-19 pandemic”.

On October 2, the United States donated nearly 1.5 million Pfizer doses to support Vietnam’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The vaccine batch, donated through the COVAX Facility, was delivered directly from the Pfizer manufacturing plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan, according to the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam.

Earlier, the United States had made three Covid-19 vaccine donations totaling six million doses to Vietnam.
